Founded in 1990 by
company principal A. Michael Baker, IDM has served firms ranging from
Fortune 500 multinational corporations to small entrepreneurial startups.
During his thirty-three year marketing career Mr. Baker has worked his
way up from sales rep to the presidency of a multinational manufacturing
company with all the sales, sales management, product management, marketing,
marketing management, and operations steps along the way. Backed by an
unparalleled record of stimulating rapid sales growth at each of his career
positions, Mr. Baker has proven his abilities in the real world of business
as well as collecting academic credentials in international marketing
and financial analysis. Mr. Baker earned his stripes building great brands
such as Weiand, B&M, AMG, and Kaminari. He is recognized internationally
for his expertise and is currently the Marketing Columnist for Specialty
Automotive Magazine as well as heading up IDM. One of the first seven
people worldwide to receive the coveted certification as an Adobe Instructor,
Mr. Baker has taught college courses in digital graphic design and received
awards for his creative design work. He shares his talent with industry
speaking engagements and by serving as a Judge in product and design competitions.

1970's
Created a line of motorcycle chemicals for the Gumout division of Pennsylvania
Refining Co.
As International Division Manager for Weiand Automotive took the fledgling
division from a startup to a multi-million dollar operation. Developed
markets in 26 countries for Weiand products.
Developed the Lynx Ram Flo brand into the most popular custom air filter
in the American automotive performance market.
Doubled the sales of existing B&M Automotive products through packaging
and promotion.
1980's
Established the AMG brand in the United States.
Established the American luxury sedan performance market and founded Hochleistung-Benz,
a tuner and manufacturer of performance products for Mercedes-Benz automobiles.
Developed the world's first tuned exhaust systems, Kevlar styling kits,
and custom calibrated suspension systems for Mercedes-Benz automobiles.
As Director of Sales and Marketing doubled the sales of Kaminari aerodynamics
in six months.
In the post of Marketing Manager at Allison Performance Electronics, reversed
a decade long slide in sales within 1 year. Over 3 years developed a continuous
stream of successful new products.
1990's
Won design award for Best New Packaging of an Import Product during competition
at the 1990 SEMA trade show.
Founded IDM Studio.
As Marketing Consultant and Creative Director helped NOS more than double
in sales.
Assisted in the startups of Luster Lace and Select Practice Sales.
Established public relations programs for Loctite, Permatex, Krylon, and
Dupli-Color which resulted in huge increases in brand awareness in target
markets.
2000's
Led US Auto Parts Network from its base as a regional distributor of auto
body parts to become the largest Internet retailer of auto body parts
in the US. Tripled the sales of their retail automotive accessories division
in 18 months.
Created successful ecommerce initiatives for more than a dozen firms.
Designed web marketing programs for Infratech and Seachrome which proved
the efficacy of Internet communications for penetrating industrial products
markets.
